A California man convicted of workers' compensation fraud was ordered to pay $132,023 in restitution, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office announced.
Gustavo Cisneros was ordered during a restitution hearing on Wednesday to pay the full amount of losses.
Cisneros was convicted of fraud in 2024.
Prosecutors said he exaggerated his work-related injuries and the limitations they caused.
Several doctors reported that Cisneros was not exerting full effort during exams, that he was malingering and that his claimed injuries were inconsistent with exams, imaging studies and tests.
"It was also discovered that Cisneros had at least six previous workers' compensation claims, despite his reporting he had none," the DA's office said. "In these previous claims, Cisneros used different Social Security numbers and dates of birth to make his actions more difficult to detect."
