Jose Solorio is a seasoned insurance fraud investigator, law enforcement professional, and investigative leader with more than 20 years of experience with the California Department of Insurance (CDI), including 18 years with the Fraud Division and two years with the Investigation Division. Throughout his career, Jose has specialized in the supervision and management of complex insurance fraud investigations, encompassing Automobile Insurance Fraud, Workers’ Compensation Fraud, Property, Life and Casualty, and Disability & Healthcare fraud. He has directed and participated in sophisticated investigations involving organized fraud schemes, collaborating closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, insurance carriers, and Special Investigation Units (SIUs). Jose is also an experienced fraud-awareness and professional-training instructor.
Jose has developed and delivered more than 200 training presentations to law enforcement agencies, insurance professionals, claims personnel, investigators, and members of the public. His training focuses on identifying fraud indicators, understanding fraudulent methodologies, conducting effective investigations, developing prosecutable cases, and recognizing insurance fraud reporting obligations. His expertise extends beyond investigations to Special Investigation Unit compliance, fraud prevention, investigative best practices, and public outreach.
